Chapter 50: Chapter50-Racial Skill Book[Agility: 6030] If it gets multiplied by 100, that means the damage is— 603,000! "Holy hell... Six hundred thousand damage?!" Daniel stared at the stat screen, stunned. Neither Great Fireball nor Thunderfall Shield could currently match that level of burst damage. Not even close. And that was before critical hits! Now that every attack he landed automatically crit, the actual damage per shot would be around 1.2 million! There was no other way to say it—SSS-tier talents were just built different. Still... Daniel frowned slightly. Even though God Shooter was a top-tier SSS talent, he could feel that there was still a noticeable gap between it and his own talent, The Infinite One. Then it struck him—it must be because he hadn’t unlocked God Shooter’s Specializations. Once he realized this, Daniel’s mood lightened. No wonder. Of course God Shooter wouldn’t be weak. It was an SSS-tier talent after all! Even if he had only inherited its exclusive skill, Stellar Flash, the output was already comparable to a God Rank Skill—and it was physical damage too! Definitely not a loss. The only issue now... was finding a suitable bow. Even when he had slain World Rank bosses, none of them had dropped bows of notable quality. Sure, he had picked up a few orange-grade weapons—but they were either low-level or had underwhelming bonus stats. Not exactly worth celebrating. Functional, but far from ideal. More importantly, none of them were bows. And even if an orange bow had dropped, Daniel probably wouldn’t have used it. With that in mind, he instinctively turned his gaze toward Alice. Everyone knew elves excelled in archery. But why? Was it because of their racial talent? If that were true, then why didn’t other races have racial talents? The thought raised a new question in Daniel’s mind. He casually asked, "Alice, are all elves naturally skilled with the bow?" Alice blinked in surprise. Of all things she expected this godlike entity to say... that wasn’t one of them. Did he really not know? Or was it that... such knowledge was simply beneath his attention? From his vantage point, even the entire Elven race probably looked no different from ants. And who cares which ant is better with a bow? With that thought, Alice’s fear and awe toward Daniel only deepened. She lowered her head and respectfully answered, "O great one, not all elves are skilled in archery by nature. But we possess a Racial Skill Book, and it is through that, that our archery is refined." Racial Skill Book? Daniel’s brows lifted slightly. That was a new one. He had never heard of such a thing before. But... If these books were exclusive to certain races, could he learn from them? The question formed in his mind instantly, followed by a gleam of intrigue. Given the nature of his Divine Infinite talent, there probably weren’t any race restrictions that applied to him. After all, judging from the God Rank Skill Compendium, many of the skills listed couldn’t have originated from humans alone. So what was stopping him from learning them too? Well—only one way to find out. If he could master the Elven archery techniques, and pair them with God Shooter’s exclusive skill, wouldn’t he instantly become a Master of the Bow? And that synergy... would create a devastating DPS combo. With that fire in his chest, Daniel spoke calmly: "Alice, from now on, you may address me as... Crossbridge." Alice was momentarily dazed. She scoured her memories—hundreds of years’ worth of divine lore—and found nothing. No deity by that name. From ancient gods to new ones, even among the lesser divine spirits, she could not recall a single reference to Crossbridge. Still, she bowed low and replied with reverence, "Praise be upon you, Crossbridge. I am honored to serve." Daniel let out a soft breath. So far, so good. She was respectful and cooperative—exactly the kind of Devotee he needed. However, he still hadn’t figured out the best way to ask for access to the Elven racial skills. After all, those were exclusive to their kind. Even though she was just an elf, the racial skill still carried meaning. If he, a being who now radiated divinity, stooped to asking for a racial skill? That would be... beneath him. No. He needed a more graceful approach. Something subtle. Something dignified. After pondering for a moment, Daniel decided to project an air of generosity and wisdom—perhaps that would put her at ease. "Alice," he said slowly, "I have always been generous to my Devotees." "But as you are now... you’re still too weak to carry out my will." "You need to grow—fast. Only then will you be worthy of the blessings I bestow." "Of course," he added, "if you seek reward, it must be earned—through sacrifice." "My principle is simple: equivalent exchange." "But always remember—what you give, and what you gain, shall be in perfect balance." Daniel had already laid out his path. Alice was the Elven crown princess—the next queen, should nothing go wrong. Which meant, one day, she would govern the entire Elven civilization. Her position would be on par with the Human Emperor. And now? She was his Devotee. The thought made Daniel’s mood soar. With Alice under his wing, the gates to the Elven Treasury were practically swinging open for him. Artifacts, skills, sacred scrolls—he could obtain them all. All it took was timing and leverage. Maybe toss her a God Rank Skill here and there. But not yet. Too early. Right now, he needed something more crucial: her trust. Meanwhile, Alice was feeling increasingly uneasy. She, who possessed one of the rare SSS-tier talents in elven history... the crown princess of her people... S~eaʀᴄh the Nôvel(F)ire.nёt website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality. Was being told she was still unworthy of stepping into Crossbridge’s plans? Did this mean... The divine entity before her was preparing for something enormous? A divine plan? Then again... it made sense. The millennial Apocalypse was approaching. Even the gods themselves were unlikely to remain untouched. Perhaps she was but a chess piece in a game far greater than she could comprehend. She shuddered involuntarily. Still, Alice didn’t find the idea of being a god’s pawn shameful. On the contrary—it proved her worth. For in a game of gods, ordinary races weren’t even allowed on the board. They were the board. And she... she had stepped onto that board. She was no longer part of the terrain—she was now a piece in play. But what did Crossbridge have planned for her? Just then, she recalled Daniel’s words—sacrifice to earn blessings. Grow stronger to carry out divine will. Could it be... he was offering her guidance? A path forward? Suddenly, she felt a rush of understanding. If she could offer sacrifices and receive divine gifts, she could evolve. Rapidly. Her heart surged with excitement. "O great Crossbridge," she said in a trembling voice, "how might I offer sacrifice in order to receive your blessing?" Daniel nearly sighed in relief. He had been waiting for that exact question. Yes—this was how you maintain dignity. Let her ask. Not the other way around. "I am fond of collecting skill books," he said smoothly. "The more, the better." "The more you offer me... the greater your reward shall be." "Of course, I have no need for trash. Only the rare, the precious—the exceptional—catch my eye."
