Chapter 5 - 5 Little Flower SpiritThere is a saying: letting a group of harmless little fairies settle near the lair is, to some extent, like a chicken offering up a seal of approval. Because this kind of weak fairy would stay far away from any creature that might harm them, in their judgment, young Noah the Golden Dragon poses no threat to them. Of course, the more likely reason is the natural noble character and renowned reputation of Golden Dragons, admired throughout many material realms. After all, the benevolence of the Metallic Dragon Race, especially Golden Dragons, is evident to all and stands the test of time. No Golden Dragon would harm naturally kind and beautiful fairy creatures deliberately. However, an adult Golden Dragon is too powerful; even their unconscious actions could be disastrous for weak creatures. Therefore, when the Dragon Nest is left with only a young dragon, it is entirely understandable that these little fairies would venture in, as there is still the intimidating presence left by an adult Golden Dragon, making this the safest place in this thousand-mile stretch of primitive wilderness. "You have done well." Noah addressed these little Flower Spirits for the first time, initiating communication with them. Before this, Noah had never paid attention to them, as these fairy creatures were too weak, almost useless, and served only to please Noah's eyes. These little Flower Spirits always remained in the flower garden and never dared to venture into the real Dragon Nest, clearly knowing their limits. However, when Noah spoke to them, the little Flower Spirits didn't immediately react, subconsciously believing that a proud and aloof creature like a Golden Dragon would scorn them, which was indeed true. "Are you talking to us?" The playful chatter among the little Flower Spirits quieted down, and a Flower Spirit with butterfly wings on her back, gathering her courage, met Noah's eyes and cautiously inquired. "Apart from you, there are no other fairy creatures in my garden who can respond to me." Noah replied, and as his voice echoed, panic mixed with caution appeared on the delicate faces of the little Flower Spirits who had been playing freely moments ago. With their wisdom, being noticed by a Dragon is never a good thing. If given a choice, the Flower Spirits hoped this young Golden Dragon would ignore them like specks of dust. However, it was clear the situation did not change with their wishes. "Most honorable Dragon's Son of the Golden Dragons, may I ask what your command is?" Three little Flower Spirits were slightly trembling as they crouched on the flowers. The Flower Spirit with the blue butterfly wings bravely asked, as someone among them had to respond to the Dragon. "A command? Haha!" Noah couldn't help but laugh softly at the timid appearance of the little fairies, "Besides tending to this garden and caring for the flowers, what else can you do for me?" "We..." The blue butterfly-winged Flower Spirit was taken aback by Noah's question. "Hahaha, you have already made a sufficient contribution with your tiny strengths. The reason my flower garden looks so beautiful is because of your indispensable contributions." The power of the Flower Spirits is indeed small, yet in caring for flowers, few species can surpass them. "I should reward you." Noah's words left the three Flower Spirits stunned, their little heads almost going blank. "What do you want as a reward?" "Allowing us to continue living here is the greatest blessing for us." The butterfly-winged Flower Spirit quickly responded. When a Dragon declares they wish to give a reward, never ask for anything of great value, even from the most prestigious and renowned Golden Dragon. Moreover, the Golden Dragon before them was only a mere hatchling. What wealth could such a Dragon possess? Even if they were given something, how could weak fairies like them hold it? "You only wish to retain your right to live here?" The three Flower Spirits nodded vigorously in response to such a question. "But merely that does not suffice to demonstrate my noble benevolence." Even faced with such discerning Flower Spirits, Noah was still unsatisfied, "Let's do this; I grant you the privilege to follow me. You may manage this garden for me and invite your kindred to live here." Their gracious and condescending demeanor naturally garnered heartfelt gratitude and respect from the little fairies. For them, such a change was like a mountain of gold falling from the sky. "You are the kindest and most magnificent Golden Dragon I have ever met!" "Thank you for your generous gift!" "May you be immortal, may your glory endure for millennia!" Even the two fairies who were initially too afraid to speak began to praise Noah fervently. They never imagined they would one day gain the favor of a Golden Dragon. This is the mightiest True Dragon Species, that only needs less than a thousand years to become a revered legend. Yet now, they had obtained the protection of a Golden Dragon and were allowed to invite more of their kin. If not for the promises made by the Golden Dragon itself, they would hardly dare to believe it, as if it were a dream. Amidst the praises of this group of Flower Spirits, Noah gently flicked his tail and turned to return to the Dragon Nest, a lair built into a mountain. For the Colorful Dragon Clan, a mountain-top hollowed-out lair is beyond their imagination as a premium Dragon Nest, but for the Metallic Dragon Race, especially a Golden Dragon, it is only a temporary palace for short-term residence. By Noah's own standards, the Dragon Nest left by his parents was rather crude. Although sections like the drawing-room, bedroom, storage room, exhibition room, library, and treasure room were complete, and it even had an array of spells and various residential functions, it was far from enough. Not to mention, the vast, empty treasure room and exhibition room could cause him to grumble now and then. Not a single copper coin was left for him, only some books remained in the library, and that was about it. Of course, it was still better than a human castle. According to custom, after being entrusted to his adoptive parents, he should live in a human city, namely his adoptive parents' castle estate. Yet this was a borderland with a poor economic environment, so development was out of the question. Although a city had been built on the Augustine family territory, Noah only went down the mountain to take a quick look, and then abandoned the idea of living in the city. The Dragon Nest was perfect! For, the current environment of human cities and the personal hygiene of residents provided him with a clear understanding of certain elements from the dark ages of the medieval period in his memory.
