Chapter 4 - 4 Blood Origin FruitThreads of blood-red color were transported along the massive, robust roots into the tree's canopy, injected into the gradually blooming buds, where a fruit formed alongside the maturing blooms. The red skin of the fruit was as crimson as blood, yet exuded a fragrance so irresistible that even Noah found it hard to suppress the saliva pooling in his mouth, making him drool with desire. Nevertheless, Noah temporarily restrained his urge to consume it. Golden roots glimmered with flowing light, like a stream, while waves surged upon them. The young knight, leading his followers, was nearing the end of the Goblin Tribe massacre. It was, from the start, a battle of overwhelming force. Even though they were previously ignored, once unleashed in full strength, even the secondary defense forces of Tedel's knight order were enough to utterly crush a low-tier monster clan like this. But a massacre couldn't solve the problem; such low-tier monster tribes were everywhere, and within two or three days, another tribe of similar ecological niche would fill the gap. Nonetheless, Tedel didn't expect to solve the issue with just one battle. After a simple battlefield cleanup and collecting valuable spoils, he led his team back to the city. The scene ended here, and the origin of the blood threads feeding off the slaughtered Goblin Tribe's spilt blood became unclear, as it no longer appeared. All the blood threads flowed entirely into the blooming buds, and the fruit matured silently, hanging from the branches, exuding a fragrance dragons found irresistible. After a brief contemplation, Noah reached out with his dragon claws, plucking the fruit from the canopy, inspecting it closely. It was a small red fruit, no larger than a cherry, with translucent flesh visible beneath its thin skin. [Blood Origin Fruit] The moment he plucked the fruit, Noah paused, for he knew the name and function of this fruit, akin to how pure-blood dragons innately knew how to fly and breathe. It was an innate talent and instinct. The Blood Origin Fruit refined the bones and flesh of living beings, enhancing their bloodline strength and restoring their original power, allowing further advancement. Most importantly, its effects could accumulate, eventually leading to biological evolution, a leap in life class. Roar~ Noah swallowed the small red fruit in his claw, and at that moment, his eyes snapped open. Stars filled the sky, and the moon sat mid-heaven. Unbeknownst to him, the sun had sunk into the earth, stars and moon replaced it. The evening breeze, carrying floral scents, blew, but Noah didn't feel refreshingly cool, for a warmth was spreading within his chest, like a burning fire, sweeping over his body, flooding him with comfort. It wasn't a dream; the fruit he swallowed was real, and its effects directly manifested on his physical form. Strengthening bones and sinew, refining bloodlines, restoring origins, life evolution The effects of the Blood Origin Fruit, regardless of which, were enough to excite, thrill, and even drive any being that drew strength from their bloodline into a frenzy. However, Noah, feeling the calming tumult within his dragon body, found his expression rather peculiar. His bloodline seemed to have undergone some changes, yet upon further sensing, there was nothing discernible. He was a Golden Dragon, a pure-blooded Golden Dragon, the strongest True Dragon species in the Metallic Dragon Race. Even other Dragon Clan offshoots like the Colorful Dragon Clan, Gemstone Dragon Clan, and Sub-iron Dragon Clan had no Dragon species that could surpass his bloodline. The Golden Dragon was undisputedly the strongest True Dragon species. In other words, Noah already possessed the most formidable and top-tier bloodline known today. In terms of bloodline alone, finding a stronger being is incredibly challenging now. Under such circumstances, the Blood Origin Fruit's effect of purifying and evolving his bloodline was nearly negligible, which was entirely reasonable and understandable. "Quite a waste," he thought. Noah speculated that if a Dragon Vein Mage or a Dragon Descendant swallowed the Blood Origin Fruit from the Golden Tree, they might experience immediate changes. However, as a pure-blood Golden Dragon, consuming the fruit, he sensed something, but nothing changed. But, was there truly no change? Did this fruit have no effect on him at all? Actually, it could be viewed from another perspective: is it really impossible for the pure Gold Dragon bloodline to evolve again? To restore its origins? To become even stronger? The answer is certainly no. Though amongst the most premier bloodlines, the Golden Dragon Bloodline is not the strongest; it still holds the potential for progression. But that's the stuff of ancient legends. A single Blood Origin Fruit couldn't let him touch those most ancient dragons, but this fruit came at the mere cost of annihilating a Goblin Tribe. If there were larger numbers, more potent Blood Origin Fruits, could they truly evolve his bloodline, enabling him to trace back those ancient legends, letting the ancestors' glory reemerge through him? Noah didn't know the answer, but he was very much looking forward to it. Moreover, he had a premonition that the Golden Tree's utility extended far beyond that. He had merely discovered the tip of the iceberg, after all, what shimmered on the Golden Tree wasn't solely red; it was a magnificent rainbow-like splendor. Eee-yah! Yah! As Noah pondered, giggling voices umade of humans, echoing with joy, pulled Noah's thoughts back to reality, towards them. They were a few tiny human-shaped creatures flying among the flowers, with transparent wings on their backs, exquisite and flawless features, and perfectly proportioned figures, with their only flaw being their extreme smallness. Flower Demons, or you could call them Flower Spirits, or even Flower Fairies. This was an incredibly delicate yet exceedingly fragile type of spirit creature, whose perfect forms and beauty could easily arouse greed, yet they often couldn't resist the avarice of other creatures. Due to their weakness, these small fairies had the ability to discern benevolence and malice. They would hide themselves before creatures harboring ill intents approached and would not get close to those overwhelmingly powerful beings either. Extremely powerful beings were already a significant threat to weaker life forms just by their sheer presence, irrespective of their nature. Therefore, during the temporary stay of Noah's parents, they never saw these little beings; only after the adult Golden Dragons departed, leaving this Dragon Nest to Noah, did these tiny creatures quietly appear. For the arrival of these little beings, Noah previously turned a blind eye. He neither drove them away nor paid any attention, allowing them to live here peacefully. After all, they indeed kept his flower garden well cared for; the trampled flowers and plants that Tedel stepped on during the day were uplifted by them, now swaying in the evening breeze, and they were joyful for this reason. But now, Noah had a different thought.
