In forty years of having wolf pups, I’d never felt anything like this. The child inside Lily wasn’t dying - it was transforming into something that didn’t need a heartbeat to live. Around us, the floating battlefield of chaos energy pulsed with strange colors. Shadow-Lily’s attack had stopped in mid-air, as if the baby’s power was holding back time itself.
