Chapter 67: Pregnant
When Adrian came home, he was immediately puzzled to see a small heart-patterned gift box sitting on the bed. Frowning, he picked it up. He didn’t open it right away, examining it carefully. Today wasn’t his birthday, as far as he remembered.
As he stood there thinking, someone hugged him from behind. His frown melted into a soft, happy smile. The tiredness of the day disappeared, replaced by joy.
"Open it," Bianca whispered in his ear.
"What is this?"
"A gift for you."
"A gift? You didn’t get my birthday wrong, did you, babe?"
"Silly. It’s not for your birthday. I just wanted to give it to you. Open it..." Bianca said, barely hiding her excitement.
"Okay."
Slowly, Adrian untied the ribbon and opened the box. His eyes narrowed as he saw a digital thermometer inside. But something seemed off. There were no numbers—just two red lines. He blinked, unable to believe his eyes.
Still there. Two red lines. Heart racing, Adrian picked up the test and held it right in front of him. Immediately, Adrian turned around and pulled Bianca into a tight hug.
"Are you... pregnant?" he asked, his voice trembling, eyes wide with disbelief.
"Yeah..."
"You’re really pregnant, babe? I’m not dreaming, am I?"
"You’re not dreaming. I’m really pregnant."
"Seriously... I’m going to be a dad soon, babe?" Adrian asked again, still half in shock,
"Yes. You’re going to be a dad. How do you feel? Happy?"
Bianca’s words made Adrian release her from the hug. He looked at her closely and smiled widely. His smile was so genuine that Bianca couldn’t help but be captivated.
It was like the morning sun, bright enough to dazzle her eyes. Even though she had seen him smile countless times, she still felt stunned.
Suddenly, Bianca’s expression changed. Her eyes narrowed, showing her displeasure. She grabbed Adrian’s tie, pulling his face closer to hers. A surge of possessiveness and jealousy hit her, she didn’t want anyone else seeing her husband’s sincere smile.
"Listen, Adrian. Don’t you dare smile like that at any other woman besides me," Bianca said seriously, already strayed from their previous conversation.
Instead of getting angry, Adrian’s smile grew even wider. "Jealous? You don’t need to be. That smile only ever comes out when I’m with you, babe."
Bianca huffed, her cheeks turning a rosy red from a mix of embarrassment and happiness. Her reaction made Adrian feel playful and unable to resist—he leaned in and pressed his lips to hers.
"I’m so happy you’re pregnant. Looks like all my efforts weren’t wasted," he said with a grin. "You know who else is going to be thrilled about this news?" His eyes sparkled.
Bianca tilted her head, curious. "Who?"
"Grandpa. He’s going to be over the moon when he hears you’re pregnant. He’s always wanted to hold a great-grandchild, and now his wish will finally come true. I can’t wait to tell him. How about we go to my dad’s tonight?"
"Sure. I’m happy too, knowing your grandpa’s wishes are finally coming true," Bianca said.
"And it’s all thanks to you, babe. None of this would happen without you. I’m so grateful that God gave you to me." Adrian kissed her again.
"I feel the same, Adrian," Bianca whispered.

By five in the evening, Adrian and Bianca were getting ready to visit his father’s house. Adrian had called ahead to let his father and grandfather know that they’d be coming for dinner.
When they arrived at his father’s house, his father and grandfather were waiting at the door, faces bright with happy smiles. Since marrying Bianca, Adrian always made time to visit them together.
"Bianca, Adrian!" Sean exclaimed joyfully.
"Your favorite food is ready, Adrian," Dean added, giving his son’s shoulder a gentle pat.
"That already makes me hungry, Dad," Adrian replied with a grin.
Seeing his son smile so genuinely, Dean felt a wave of relief. He glanced at Bianca and gave her an approving nod.
The four of them walked into the house and headed to the dining room. Adrian swallowed hard when he saw his favorite dish, spread out on the table. He held Bianca’s hand as he sat next to his father, with Bianca beside him and his grandfather next to Dean.
After saying grace, they started eating. During the meal, Dean tried to bring up the topic of grandchildren.
"Some of my friends’ grandkids have already finished elementary school," Dean said with a small sigh. "I’m a little jealous of them."
Sean chuckled and added, "And some of my friends even have lots of great-grandchildren."
Adrian just smiled quietly, keeping the big news to himself for now.
Once the meal was over, Adrian could no longer hold back the good news. He glanced at Bianca, who nodded slightly, and cleared his throat to get his father’s and grandfather’s attention.
"Um... Dad... Grandpa... there’s something I want to tell you," Adrian said, his expression unreadable and mysterious.
"What is it, Adrian?" Sean asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I want to tell you something," Adrian said, keeping them in suspense.
"What is it?"
"You’re going to be thrilled about this."
"Yes... what is it? Why are you beating around the bush? Just tell us already," Dean said.
"I want to tell you that Bianca, my wife, is pregnant." Adrian said, his voice full of happiness.
"Pregnant? Expecting?" Dean and Sean looked at Bianca in surprise, their eyes widening.
"You’re really pregnant, Bianca?" his grandfather asked, leaning forward for emphasis.
"Yes, Grandpa," Bianca confirmed with a shy smile.
Suddenly, Sean threw his head back and laughed loudly, his voice booming through the kitchen. "Finally! Finally! Hahaha! I’m going to have a great-grandchild!"
Dean’s eyes sparkled with joy as he clapped his hands together. "And I finally get to have a grandchild too!"
Sean grinned from ear to ear, his chest swelling with pride. "Good job, Adrian," he said, then turned to Bianca. "Thank you, Bianca," he said warmly. "You’ve made me the happiest grandfather ever. I can’t wait to meet my great-grandchild."
