But with the apocalypse here, who would care about these things? Being able to eat enough to live was already a luxury. He placed these items in the shopping cart to stock up at home, to avoid coming out to buy them later. Thud! Thud! Thud! Sounds were coming. He looked towards the end, where the emergency passage was. The sound was coming from there, but he didn’t care; hearing noises was normal. He continued searching. "Found it." He arrived at the section for female products, with many brands and types. To Lin Fan, these items felt foreign, though he knew what they were for, he was not familiar with them. "Sofy Super Sleep 420." This should be for daily use. He saw another type. "Sofy Comfort Pants, enjoy ultimate sleep." This must be for use during sleep at night. He took some of each type. Unknowingly, the shopping cart was full, but most were lightweight daily necessities. "Tap tap..." There were dense footsteps from the emergency passage, approaching from afar. Suddenly. He looked up at the ventilation duct, also hearing noises coming from there. "Zombies?" Lin Fan was a bit doubtful. "Hehe... roar." There was a zombie’s growl from the ventilation duct, along with a child’s panic-stricken voice. Hearing this, he seemed to remember something, abruptly leaping up, plunging his palms into the ventilation duct, and ripping it open with a yank, creating a huge hole. Instantly, a figure attempted to crawl past quickly. It was a child’s face, full of panic. Seeing Lin Fan, the child’s pupils contracted sharply as if he hadn’t realized what was happening. Lin Fan stepped back several steps and kicked out, smashing the zombie into the wall at the end. The back of its head collided with the wall, spraying thick blood everywhere. The boy he pulled down struggled as if caught by a zombie, desperately thrashing, continually struggling, because he feared the zombie, feared being caught by it. He clutched a bag in his hands, which contained bread and a few other sparse foods, his face was filthy and also had sticky zombie blood on it. Bang! The emergency passage door was violently smashed open, a group of horrifically howling zombies spotted fresh flesh and recklessly rushed towards Lin Fan. The boy in front of Lin Fan, scared, backed away, "Run, run..." The boy sprinted away, taking a few steps and looking back, catching a sight he might not dare to believe in his life. The person who pulled him from the emergency passage, holding a sword, was weaving through the crowd of zombies, striking each one with a blade or a kick, leaving the boy frozen in shock on the spot.
