Philip and Bridges returned with their men, looking disheveled. Many of them were injured, but more noticeable than the injuries were the mercenaries present, who looked just like them, dressed only in their underwear, with messy hair and dirty faces, clearly having encountered trouble. Their moves were unpredictable, and their origins murky. Upon hearing Sol’s response, neither blaming nor punishing them, Bridges and Philip truly sighed in relief. Then they continued to make their position clear, "This loss was due to our inadequate preparation. Next time, we won’t let them deceive us so easily."
