Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Healing Lilian walked over and glared at Ethan with clear irritation. "Hey, why are you here, Ethan?" Ethan stopped teasing Betty and looked toward her. Seeing her, he tilted his head in confusion. "Huh, Lilian, what do you mean? I’m here to check on Him." Ethan pointed his finger toward Betty on the mattress. Lilian’s eyes narrowed further as she leaned forward and whispered in his ear. "Are you friends with Bennett? How do you know each other?" Ethan raised an eyebrow at her jealous tone. He glanced at Lillian, then at Betty again, back and forth, a sly smirk curling on his lips, as he gave Betty a thumbs-up. Betty blinked in confusion at the sudden gesture. ’What the heck is he trying to say?’ Ethan then leaned near Lilian and whispered. "Hey, don’t worry, Lilian. Even if he looks like a woman, I don’t swing that way. I won’t steal your crush or anything. I only like women, and with my most handsome face, why would I need to swing that way?" He struck a smug pose, hand on his chin, and shot another exaggerated thumbs-up and a wink in Betty’s direction before walking off with dramatic flair. Betty got goosebumps seeing his wink. She looked at his back in disgust. ’What the hell? Why did he wink at me without any reason’ Looking back at Lillian, she became stunned. Lilian’s face was flushed. ’Narcissistic man always praising himself, but did I look like I liked Betty? No, no, I’m just concerned about her and want to be friends, that’s all’ "Umm, are you alright?" Hearing Betty’s voice, Lilian came out of her daze and nodded quickly. "Yeah, it’s nothing." Sitting beside Betty, she opened the bandage cover and looked at Betty with sparkling eyes. "Where are your wounds? Show me? Let me bandage you." Betty’s eyes widened as she shook her head quickly. "No, you don’t have to. I can bandage myself." ’Are you kidding me? If I let her bandage my stomach, she will find out I’m a woman.’ Lilian parted her lips to say something, but a voice interrupted her. "Ah, miss, it’s our time to watch. You can go to your campsite and sleep." Lilian turned to look behind in irritation, looking at the blond man. Lilian put her hand on her hip and stood up with narrowed eyes. "Can’t you see I’m going to treat a patient here? Why are you disturbing us? I will go to sleep later. Hmph." The blond-haired guy looks incredulously at her, rubbing his neck. He walked away muttering under his breath. ’I was just being nice. Why did she have to become irritated? What a weirdo’ Betty looked behind Lillian, her gaze spotted Damien looking around like finding someone. Gulping nervously, she looked at Lillian and said with a stiff smile. "Lilian, you can go. I can bandage myself. I’m not that hurt." Lilian pouted and put the bandage near Betty’s hand. "Hmm, okay. After this, don’t forget to eat the food. Bye." As Lillian walked away reluctantly, Betty sighed in relief, holding the bandage from the floor. She tried to sit up only to feel more pain. "Haaah, hah." "Ughh damn it." Lying back down, Betty pulled down the jacket zipper and slowly took out her broken arm. Seeing the bulge through her shirt, Betty bit her lips in irritation and looked around. ’thank god nobody is watching here. I have to do something about this’ Pulling the bandage roll from her mouth, Betty raised her hand and rolled bandage around her arm. "You can come in space to heal. You know that, right?" Calista lazily said from inside space. Betty blinked, hearing her and nodding slowly. ’Opps, I almost forgot about that phoenix pool.’ Glancing at her arm, her lips twitched, seeing bandages covering the phoenix mark. ’Now I have to undo it. What a headache’ After removing the bandage, Betty looked around. All people were already sleeping; even those who were sitting were far from her. Realizing it, she touched the phoenix mark and vanished, leaving her jacket and clothes. Opening her eyes, she was lying on grass again with a leaf dress and an injured body. "Hey Calista, where are you?" Hearing no reply, Betty sighed and looked toward the waterfall and the lake ahead. ’How can I go there now? I can’t soak in normal water in this state’ Suddenly her gaze fell on Calista, who was flying toward her. Without talking, Calista held her with her talons and started flying toward the waterfall. "ahhh" Betty yelled, feeling her small talons holding her weight easily. "How are you holding me with your small body?" Betty yelled as they neared the waterfall. Without stopping, Calista went inside the cave and tossed her inside the phoenix pool. After that, she sat on a rock beside the pool and said proudly. "Hmph, I’m Phoenix. Your weight is nothing to me. Even if you were to have twenty times more weight than currently, I can still hold you pretty easily." "gur gur" Betty fell inside the pool. Drenched fully, pain shot inside her as she slammed into the bottom of the pool. Calista blinked, seeing it. She quickly covered her eyes with her wings. "Opps, sorry." "Ahhhhh" Betty yelled loudly as her arm bone started connecting; her stomach pain became more unbearable. Calista’s eyes were opening and closing as she saw her injured body, although healing, but with immense pain jerking her in different directions. After some shouting, she became silent. Calista, seeing her silent, flutters her wings and flies toward the pool and five into it, holding unconscious Betty again. In the ancient type house, Calista put Betty to bed and covered her body with a quilt. "Bang" The door slammed open as Sophia ran inside. "Waaah, Birdy, what happened to my mommy?" Calista’s eyes twitched, seeing her small figure running toward her with a stick while tears fell from her puffy eyes. "Hey, I didn’t do anything. Why are you behind meee" Calista ducks the stick and flies away, sitting on the chandelier looking exasperated at Sophia. Sophia threw the stick on the floor and jumped onto bed, looking at Betty’s face. Holding her big hand with her little one, she Wailed. "Wah, mommy open your eyes, WAAAAH"
