As he walked into the classroom with his textbook, a group of students immediately surrounded his messenger, Noctis, asking all sorts of questions. The raven on the lectern was so annoyed by the noise that he simply flew up to the ceiling and refused to come down. These students, having realized that Noctis was not dangerous, had clearly grown much bolder. They didn't dare bother Sagres, so they had to trouble his messenger instead. Many people still came to this class today; even some first-year young wizards were sitting in the classroom. Sagres didn't recognize many of them, but he noticed that Harry and his two friends were sitting in the front row, intently staring at the blackboard. Harry and Ron felt that auditing Professor Greengrass's class was the wisest decision they had ever made, though they seemed to have forgotten that Hermione had initially coerced them into coming... They had all learned a lot in this class. Although they hadn't learned some of the spells yet, it still greatly helped their daily schoolwork. Harry had also bought three crystal vials from the Weasley twins, which had originally belonged to sixth-year students. These three small vials cost him a full seventeen Galleons. Even though he was never short of Galleons, he still felt a bit of a pinch. However, after getting the items, he no longer thought so. The runic crystal vials made by Professor Greengrass were very practical. Harry would secretly fill them with food every time he ate in the Great Hall, and then share it with his Gryffindor friends when he returned to the common room. To be honest, every time he enjoyed a midnight snack, he felt that the money was well spent. Harry also gave one to Ron and one to Hermione. Ron filled his vial with Butterbeer (which was against the rules), while Hermione used hers to carry Hogwarts library books. Sagres walked into the classroom, put down his textbook, and immediately began teaching, without any preamble or unnecessary chatter. "Today, we will be studying the distribution of magic nodes for Lumos..." He placed his textbook on the desk, snapped his fingers casually, and the classroom was immediately plunged into darkness. "Now, put away all your foolish fantasies—Lumos is not an ambient light from a romantic story, but the first barrier against darkness." A few soft laughs came from the dark classroom, but then Sagres's Lumos illuminated the entire room. "The core of the spell lies in 'control' rather than 'creation.'" The orb of light at the tip of his wand suddenly split into a swarm of fireflies, resting on the shoulders of the astonished students. Cedric of Hufflepuff couldn't help but raise his hand to ask, "But Professor, the book says—" "The textbook was written two hundred years ago." The firefly on Cedric's shoulder shattered into specks of light, landing on his desk and imprinting glowing words: Auditors are not allowed to ask questions! "Ehm.." Cedric awkwardly scratched his head. "Pfft~!" "Scof—!" His deskmates on either side couldn't help but cover their mouths and laugh when they saw it. "I'll reiterate—my class generally has few questions, and therefore almost no extra credit." He glanced at the students sitting obediently and said calmly, "And because the auditing students are from different years, your learning progress will vary..." Many younger students hadn't learned many spells at all, and the spells he discussed in class covered everything up to the OWLs exam, which meant that some of the content he taught was completely new to the younger students. Sagres continued to wave his wand, saying without looking back, "Lumos is a very simple spell, but its uses are very wide-ranging—dispelling darkness, blinding flashes, contacting teammates..." The tiny orbs of light continuously changed shape, finally transforming into the likenesses of the students listening to the lecture on their shoulders. Sagres looked at the astonished students in the classroom and nodded with satisfaction. Any simple magic can be expanded into a great many possibilities. He only understood this truth when he was almost an adult. Fortunately, it wasn't too late, as many wizards would never realize this problem in their lifetime. Waving his wand again, the glowing little figures on the students' shoulders stood up and even pulled out a glowing wand to cast an even smaller Lumos. Such precise magic control was by no means simple. Sagres believed that very few people in the wizarding world could achieve this now. Next, he taught them how to use light to transmit messages and how to separate light to repel dark creatures. Even as the class neared its end, the students were still immersed in the dazzling lights. When class ended, Hermione used the runic crystal vial Harry had given her to store the tiny "herself" from her shoulder, seemingly in a very good mood. Waving his hand to dispel the darkness in the classroom, Sagres's wand drew light trails, and all the Lumos light clusters gradually disappeared.
