The ghost behind Han Fei and the one in front both became restless, as if they were afraid that more Fierce Ghosts and Monsters might come over soon. Heavy panting arose behind Han Fei, and that viscous liquid dripped onto his back again. Five gaunt fingers reached into room 1051. It seemed like the ghost behind Han Fei wanted to drag him out, but as soon as it reached its hand inside, the “darkness” of the entire room turned into a thick juice flowing towards the doorway. The hand never landed on Han Fei’s shoulder; it was firmly sucked in by the darkness that had materialized inside the room. “The resident of room 1051 seems to be able to merge with the darkness.” Han Fei recalled the black shadow standing in the corridor, faceless and unclad, just a pitch-black silhouette: “The residents in this building really come in all shapes and sizes.” A deep growl erupted, and Han Fei dared not look back. He only knew that a conflict had broken out between the ghost following him and the resident of room 1051. “Fight, fight, hopefully they’ll both be injured, one less to deal with if one dies.” Han Fei’s mental resilience had become very strong by now. The hair-raising sounds kept coming through his ears, and his back was already soaked with cold sweat, but he just didn’t look back. “Five minutes left.” Looking at the countdown on the task panel, Han Fei’s heart beat faster and faster, but his expression remained very calm. When there were only three minutes left for the task, the master of room 1051 seemed to be thoroughly enraged. The entire room came alive, and the thick darkness, like a gaping maw, suddenly surged out of the door, swallowing the ghost that was behind Han Fei! “Bang!” Hearing the sound of the door shutting behind him made Han Fei’s heart skip a beat as an unexpected development occurred. All the light vanished, and Han Fei felt as though he had been deprived of vision, surrounded only by profound darkness. “Was the ghost behind me pulled into room 1051, too?!” Han Fei now felt extremely insecure and wanted to move, trying to lean against the wall. His shoulder soon touched something, but it didn’t feel like the solid wall; it was more like a person’s belly. “Is someone standing next to me? His lower abdomen is at the height of my shoulder? Was he hanging in the room?” The only thing that brought Han Fei some comfort was that the ghost behind him was still struggling. He could hear the continuous screams and growls. In such complete darkness, hearing the ghost’s screams and howls was a comfort to Han Fei. At least he knew there was another Outsider present in the room. The room was filled with dark energy, and the darkness surged against the walls like waves. Han Fei broke into a sweat for the Ghost behind him, “You have to hold on for three more minutes!” Staring intently at the mission panel, Han Fei watched the countdown of the hidden task, “The countdown is still going, which means that the Ghost following me hasn’t been devoured yet. That should be the only piece of good news...” Just as this thought came to Han Fei’s mind, he heard a piercing scream. A lot of the cold wind in the room dissipated, and it seemed like the Ghost following him had suffered a heavy blow. “No, I was just cheering you on, pull yourself together!” Han Fei panicked too. The horror level of this room exceeded his imagination. He couldn’t see anything; it was pitch-black everywhere, with the foul smell of decay permeating the air, feeling like an abandoned morgue. The sounds of fighting and screams behind him grew fainter, and barely more than ten seconds had passed. “Are you still there? Hold on a bit longer!” Han Fei really panicked now. The Ghost in room 1051 seemed to have a limited range of movement—weak outside the room but strong inside it. The sounds of fighting slowly turned into banging on the door, and then into the sound of nails scratching on the door. The Ghost following Han Fei seemed to have given up on him, desperate to leave. Han Fei hadn’t looked back up to now. He had no idea what was happening behind him and could only judge by the sounds. The situation seemed to be getting worse. If the Ghost following him were to leave, he would have to face this eerie house alone. Taking advantage of the room’s owner not paying attention to him, Han Fei stepped backward. The dense darkness almost became tangible, while the Ghost behind Han Fei burst out with an icy, bone-chilling chill. The focus of their battle was no longer on Han Fei. Compared to Han Fei, the owner of room 1051 was more eager for the Ghost behind him, and that Ghost had also realized the danger, desperately trying to escape. The Ghost following Han Fei never intended to enter room 1051, but it was inadvertently calculated by the Ghost of room 1051. When the room door was shut, it was all too late. An icy breath washed over Han Fei’s back, and he unknowingly retreated to the room door. At the climax of their fight, Han Fei had reached the door, his arm clutching the doorknob. “Chance!” Han Fei wanted to pull open the door, but as his body started to move outward, the invisible darkness descended upon him, grabbing hold of him. “Can’t leave?” At this moment, the Ghost following him and the owner of room 1051 were close to a conclusion, with the Ghost following Han Fei trying to escape, while the neighbor from room 1051 was gradually losing control. The crack in the door was slowly widening, and the room was getting brighter. The Ghost behind Han Fei didn’t care about him at all. Just as it was about to make its escape, Han Fei suddenly exerted force on the door lock, seemingly trying to close the door. Witnessing Han Fei’s attempt to close the door, the Ghost behind him let out a piercing shrill scream, as if it were on the verge of madness. “Take me with you!” As the darkness coiled around Han Fei, he could not break free on his own and could only shout loudly, “Weren’t you going to use me as a scapegoat? Didn’t we agree to be each other’s angel?”
