Chapter 42: Trish and Emma II Emma then turned to Trish, her expression sharp as she demanded, "If you want to keep my boyfriend, then give me power too." Trish shook her head, her gaze steady. "I can't. The power I have is too destructive. You'd end up consumed by it." Emma frowned, her lips pressing into a thin line. Dave stepped in, placing a calming hand on Emma's shoulder. "Trish is right. But don't worry. I'm working on something else. Soon, you'll have your own power, one that suits you." Emma looked back at him, her irritation easing as she nodded, though her pride still held strong. "Fine. But don't take too long." She then glanced down at herself, chuckling lightly. "By the way, where are my clothes? I can't exactly go out in my underwear." Dave smiled, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "You can find something in my bedroom—there's a dress that should suit you." Emma raised a brow, smirking slightly at his suggestion. "Nice try, but you're not getting anywhere with me until I have my power." She let out a playful huff as Diana handed her clothes. Dave chuckled softly, his hand gently trailing along Emma's arm as he leaned in closer. "I can't touch you, or what?" he asked, his voice teasing, eyes locked onto hers. "I... mhm—" Emma began to respond, but before she could finish, Dave captured her lips in a fierce kiss, cutting off her words. His lips moved with a determined passion, and when he finally pulled back, he smirked. "Looks like I'll have to punish you a little." His hands roamed, cupping her with deliberate intent, causing Emma's face to flush a deep red. Though she tried to pretend she was resisting, her body betrayed her true feelings, trembling under his touch. Anyone could see she wasn't really putting up much of a fight. Without another word, Dave swept her up in his arms, carrying her to the bedroom for yet another round of intense passion. "Can I join in?" Trish asked casually, her devilish grin playing across her lips. "No!" Emma shot back fiercely, her cheeks still flushed and her composure barely intact. She wasn't ready to share this moment, especially not with another person present. Dave chuckled at Emma's reaction, shaking his head slightly. "Maybe next time," he teased, giving Trish a knowing glance. Trish shrugged nonchalantly. "Your loss," she replied, her grin never fading as she turned to leave, leaving the two to their privacy. Emma huffed, still flustered but trying to regain control, while Dave just smiled, clearly enjoying the moment. Dave couldn't help but smirk as he watched Emma try to regain her composure. She pulled the sheets tighter around herself, her face still flushed. "You're enjoying this too much," she muttered under her breath, shooting a quick glance at him. "You make it hard not to," Dave replied, his tone teasing but with a gentleness that made Emma's defenses falter even more. He moved closer, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "You don't need to worry. There's no rush with us. We'll take things at your pace." Emma, for a moment, let her guard down, leaning into his touch. "You sure know how to handle a woman," she said softly, her usual calculating expression replaced by something more vulnerable. Dave smiled, giving her a reassuring nod. "Only because you let me." The warmth of the moment lingered as the two sat in silence for a while. Emma finally sighed, her typical confidence slowly returning. "Alright, maybe I overreacted a bit back there," she admitted. Dave raised an eyebrow. "A bit?" "Okay, fine, maybe more than a bit," Emma laughed, rolling her eyes. "But you can't blame me. I wasn't expecting... all of this." "I like keeping you on your toes," Dave said, winking at her. "Clearly," Emma responded with a smirk, her earlier tension dissipating. She paused for a moment, her expression shifting as she thought about everything that had happened. "So... what's next for us?" Dave leaned back, looking at her thoughtfully. "Well, we've got a lot to figure out, Emma. Business, personal life, and everything in between. But for now, why don't we just focus on enjoying the present?" Emma nodded, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "Agreed. But don't think for a second that I'll make this easy for you, Dave. You may have won this round, but I don't go down that easily." Dave grinned. "I wouldn't expect anything less." The playful banter lingered in the air, but underneath it, there was a deeper understanding forming between them. As Emma finally stood up to dress, she looked over her shoulder at Dave with a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Just so you know, next time, I'll be in control." Dave chuckled, already anticipating the challenge. "I'll be looking forward to it." "You will see" Emma said, as she began to leave wearing her clothes. Ring Ring~~ Dave opened his eyes as he heard the ringing sound of his phone. "Hey! What's up?" Dave answered. "I...need...help," came Tony's painful voice from the other end. "Where are you?" Dave asked, immediately alert. "Home," Tony replied, his voice weak and strained. Dave quickly dressed, his mind already racing as the urgency of Tony's situation hit him. He hadn't heard Tony Stark sound that vulnerable before. "Something serious must have happened," Dave muttered to himself, grabbing his jacket and checking his weapons out of habit. He glanced at the quest notification hovering in front of him. [Emergency Quest] Help Tony Reward: Tony Quest Line Opens The reward intrigued him, but that wasn't the focus right now. Tony needed help, and fast. Dave hurried out of his apartment, making his way to Tony's place. Stark Residence When Dave arrived, the mansion was eerily quiet. Normally, Tony would have security or Jarvis greeting him at the door, but there was nothing. His instincts flared, and he moved cautiously inside, keeping his senses sharp.
