Chapter 41: Demonstration of Power

An after-party celebration erupted in full swing to mark Rias's victory in her first-ever Rating Game. Her brother Sirzechs struggled not to fangirl over his little sister's triumph, so he settled for chugging drinks at an alarming rate. Among the notable guests were Grayfia and a blonde couple who could only be Riser's parents. The festive atmosphere shattered when the doors were thrown open, revealing a glaring, panting Riser, followed by his exhausted Peerage. 'Don't tell me he's not done yet,' Mitarai silently cursed, stuffing a piece of pie into his mouth, hoping to avoid more unnecessary drama. "You're a cheater! Red Dragon Emperor!" Riser shouted. "What the hell was that flying creature?!" Mitarai groaned inwardly. 'Can I just play dumb?' Rias didn't take kindly to her favorite and only Pawn being insulted. "I think it's better if you admit defeat, Riser! That's Mitarai's familiar. The Rating Game rules don't restrict such a thing!" Riser ignored her, his blue eyes drilling into Mitarai's uncaring form. "So he's just a lower-class devil who can't fight by himself! I challenge you!" he yelled, but Mitarai kept ignoring him, savoring the treats. "Do you hear me, bastard?!" Riser screamed. Mitarai swallowed his mouthful, finally turning to face Riser. "Okay, fuck off. Seriously, I've got nothing to gain from fighting you. We've already won Rias' freedom, and I'm not wasting my time on you. Get lost." Riser's insults fell on deaf ears until he played his last card. "MY WHOLE PEERAGE!" Riser bellowed, shocking everyone. "If I lose, I forfeit my entire Peerage!" "Riser!" a busty blonde gasped, just as stunned as the betrayed Peerage behind him. "This is insane!" A hand stopped her. "This is to recover the honor of the Phenex. He is allowed to do this!" Lady Phenex glared at her husband. "Need I remind you that our daughter, his sister, is in his Peerage too!" Richard Phenex waved off her concern. "Do not fear. Now that he can't use that dragon pet, he doesn't stand a chance against Riser." Layla Phenex gritted her teeth. "That's not the point!" she snapped. Mitarai stopped eating and glared at Riser, his aura flaring up. "Fine, then! I'm going to crush you and win, again. That'll teach you that you don't deserve to own those beautiful girls!" Mitarai's seriousness made Riser's Peerage blush. With a snap of fingers, they were back in the dimensional field. "As both participants have agreed, you may start now!" Sirzechs declared. Flames surrounded Riser. "I'm going to teach you a lesson...!" Mitarai's knee smashed into Riser's jaw before he could even finish his sentence, sending him reeling. Before Riser could process the pain, Mitarai grabbed his shoulders and flung him across the field. Boosted Gear in hand, Mitarai channeled the power of the Red Dragon, green lights blazing. "BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST! BOOST!" Feeling a primal bloodlust, Mitarai unleashed a wave of destruction. Flames and lightning fused into the attack, consuming Riser. His life flashed before his eyes, right as his whole being was consumed by the gaping attack. "I-impossible... H-he's just a low-class devil... I'm a high-class devil—" Mitarai's high kick sent Riser flying, blood pouring from his nose. His regeneration faltered, sparks flickering instead of flames. "And what's a high-class devil to a dragon?" Mitarai sneered, his leg slamming into Riser's neck. "Give up. You're too weak to continue." Seeing Mitarai walk away triggered Riser. Impressively, he got up and lunged at him. With a side-step, Mitarai watched Riser's last pitiful attempt with cold brown eyes. A green-glowing kick deformed Riser's stomach, sending him airborne like a rag doll. "Let's hope I time this right... Show me rock!" Mitarai crouched, focusing his demonic and draconic power into a spinning, shining ball. "Paper..." Riser's consciousness waned as he fell. 'To lose like this...' "ROCK!" Mitarai's fist smashed into Riser's face, the force crumpling his features and driving him to the ground. The impact flared inward, ejecting Riser like a cannonball, his body crashing through trees, leaving him a twitching mess. "The winner of this agreement is Mitarai, the Red Dragon Emperor!" Grayfia Lucifuge announced Takashi's win for the second time today, blushing and squirming at the demonstration of power. 'Oh, he's gotten so much stronger, that Alpha male I can't wait for him to fuck my brains out. My insides already burning up,' The Gray-Haired Milf thought blushing heavily. Mitarai's blazer fluttered as he looked at Riser's bloodied body, clearly having exhausted his magical power, that which had sustained his supposed immorality. "Guess dragons are stronger than phoenixes," Mitarai spoke out to Riser, the latter definitely not able to hear anything said, if he was even conscious. A busty woman, much similar looking to Rias, with blonde hair and violet eyes watched Mitarai as he stood conqueror against all the odds 'How interesting.' She thought. "Hey, hey. Isn't that the one who beat my little Sona in chess?!" a beautiful teenager remarked, her black hair tied into ponytails and her blue orbs sparkling with curiosity?
