The kayak drifted aimlessly on the sea for an entire day. As a vampire, Nolan didn't have much need for food. Unfortunately, the same couldn't be said for the Veela and the werewolf. After baking under the sun like two dried fish for hours, Fleur and the young werewolf were both parched. Thankfully, Nolan had his wand. A quick "Aguamenti" summoned fresh water, quenching their immediate thirst—but at a price. "You can drink my blood if you want, but you won't turn me into a vampire, right...?" The young Veela eyed Nolan warily. Even though she found him somewhat attractive, the rumors about vampires unsettled her. "Hurry up," Nolan said impatiently. "I know what you're worried about, but let me tell you something—no vampire from the Von Draugr family gives away their blood easily. From ancient times till now, those who request our blood never refuse it. And you? You're just a Veela." "Hey, vampire!" The werewolf, who had been fiddling with the oars at the back of the boat, suddenly shouted, "As an English gentleman, you should show some respect to a lady! Especially when she's a foreign guest!" Nolan lazily waved his wand. The werewolf froze in place, his entire body stiffening like stone. Fleur, unwilling but left with no choice, pulled down the collar of her dress slightly, exposing her delicate, pale neck. "Fine, vampire. To ensure we make it out of this alive, I'm willing to offer my blood. But you'd better keep your word—I live quite well in the wizarding world, and I have no interest in becoming one of your 'Children of the Night.'" Nolan's voice was quiet but laced with amusement. "Twenty years from now, when you start aging and think back to this day, you might regret not taking the offer. You're a beautiful girl, Fleur. And beautiful women fear time more than anything." "Oh? So you admit I'm beautiful?" Fleur arched an elegant eyebrow, lifting her chin proudly. "I was starting to think you were blind." Her arrogance reminded him of a little swan. "Beauty and charm are two different things, girl." Under the silver moonlight, Nolan's eyes turned blood-red. He pulled Fleur close, and his fangs sank into her soft, white skin. A strange sensation washed over her. Her body, suddenly more sensitive, responded to the slow, deliberate draw of her blood. For a moment, it felt as though she were merging with this cold, enigmatic vampire. The feeding lasted five minutes. When it was over, Fleur felt weak, her legs trembling slightly. She quickly pushed Nolan away, hastily fixing her dress. Her voice was barely a whisper. "How long until your strength is fully restored? Can you fly us out of here?" "A little while longer. The sun earlier took a toll on me." Nolan's voice was husky, still laced with the aftertaste of her blood. His gaze flickered toward Fleur. She looked flustered. Avoiding his eyes, she tucked a strand of silver hair behind her ear and muttered, "Then hurry up and meditate or something. I heard vampires do that." Nolan chuckled. "What kind of ridiculous novels have you been reading, Veela? Vampires don't meditate." After a moment, his expression turned curious. "By the way, how did you end up in the ocean in the first place?" "Oh, that was awful!" Fleur suddenly became furious, her voice rising. "After the ferry sank, I got on a small boat with a bunch of Muggles. But those filthy, disgusting men—ugh! I know my body is... attractive to them, but that doesn't mean just any man can have me!" Nolan raised an eyebrow. "So they tried to assault you, and you jumped into the sea?" His voice was laced with mockery. "I thought you were a witch. You should've blasted their lifeboat apart with 'Diffindo.'" "Of course I'm a witch!" Fleur snapped, irritated. "But I lost my wand when I boarded the ferry! Otherwise, I would have made those Muggles suffer! You know, I have three-quarters wizard blood and only one-quarter Veela! I was chosen to study at France's best school—Beauxbatons! I can assure you, it's the finest magical school in all of Europe, far superior to your Hogwarts! What does your school have besides a crazy old man?" Nolan smirked, casting her an amused glance. "Oh, we have plenty. We have a Potions professor everyone despises, a Charms professor who once won the European Wizarding Duel Championship—though he's a dwarf—and the most cheerful gatekeeper in all of Europe." Half an hour later, Nolan returned—with good news. "Land is just a few dozen nautical miles ahead." "That's great—just a few dozen nautical miles," the werewolf laughed dryly. "Which means... I have to keep rowing, right?" "You can refuse," Nolan said flatly, drawing his wand. "You wouldn't mind if I sped things up, would you? I must have overestimated a werewolf's stamina—you're not as strong as I thought." Before the werewolf could react, Nolan flicked his wand. In an instant, the small boat shot forward like a bullet, slicing through the waves at a speed far beyond human effort. The werewolf's face turned red with anger. "HEY! YOU BLOODY VAMPIRE! YOU WERE MESSING WITH ME THIS WHOLE TIME?! WE DIDN'T EVEN NEED TO ROW?!" Nolan simply shrugged, completely unbothered. "Why waste effort when you don't have to?
