Chapter 51: Natural Attribute As his source core fully condensed, Azrael felt his control over cosmic energy rise to an entirely different level. Compared to before— when he had to use the energy pathways created by the breathing method to forcefully draw out his energy— he could now bring out cosmic energy naturally. Of course, since he had energy pathways formed by the primary energy veins, his control, energy release speed, recovery rate, and several other factors were far superior to those of people who had just condensed their source core. Azrael was quite pleased with the benefits brought by the Source Core, as he could now utilize cosmic energy in far more proper and refined ways. However, his attention was more focused on the power he would awaken after the condensation of his core. As Azrael waited, he suddenly felt a gust of wind brush past his face. Then, more and more gusts began to appear around him. The diamond like source core within his body started to turn green, and if one looked closely, they would be able to see gusts of wind blowing within it. As the source core turned green, Azrael felt his affinity with the wind element skyrocket. Even without focusing, he could feel its presence all around him. ’Power of wind, huh,’ Azrael thought calmly and immediately, under the effect of the Infinite Comprehension trait, countless methods to utilize the power of wind in the most optimal ways began to emerge in his mind. Azrael was quite pleased with the power he had awakened and the different ideas that were coming to his mind regarding the use of his wind power lifted his mood even more. Just as he was about to pull his hand away from the awakening stone, he suddenly felt the power of wind within his body begin to tremble. Then, like a hurricane, the wind blowing within his source core went berserk. Azrael felt something changing within the essence of his wind power. The green source core took on a hue of purple, and soon it turned completely into a beautiful violet, with aurora like light emitting from it. With the knowledge he had gained over the past year, Azrael immediately understood what was happening. A natural attribute. He couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement. Unlike traits— which can only be awakened naturally— attributes are different. A person can awaken an attribute during their awakening, but even if they don’t, they can obtain one through some extremely rare items. For Azrael, even if he hadn’t awakened a natural attribute, he could have acquired a rather good one through the influence of the Thorne Family. However, naturally awakened attributes are generally stronger than those obtained through items. For now, Azrael wasn’t sure what kind of attribute he had gained, as he still needed to enter Eonrift and complete his trial to fully activate his power. But his instincts were telling him that this attribute was anything but ordinary. Soon, his wind power completely adapted to the energy of the attribute, and the awakening stone— as well as the formation inscribed on the room’s floor ceased glowing. At the same time, the gusts of wind blowing around the room disappeared, and everything returned to its previous calm state. But— "As expected from my son, he is just as awesome as his mother!" The silence didn’t last long as Ashara rushed forward and hugged him tightly. This time, Silas and Zyrek exchanged a strange glance when they heard her, but they didn’t dwell on her bragging and also walked up to Azrael. "Power of wind with a natural attribute, huh." Silas nodded, looking extremely pleased. "Do you have any idea what kind of attribute it is?" Zyrek asked, his tone slightly odd. With his strength, it wasn’t difficult for him to guess the type of attribute just by observing it. The same applied to Azrael’s attribute. When Zyrek saw the beautiful aurora-like purple glow and felt the energy it emitted during the brief moment of awakening, he already had a guess in mind. However, the guess he arrived at was rather absurd— because if it were true, then the power was genuinely terrifying. Azrael pulled himself out of Ashara’s enthusiastic hug and shook his head. "I have no idea what kind of attribute it is." Zyrek nodded with a thoughtful expression and didn’t press the matter further. When Silas saw the look on Zyrek’s face, he asked with a raised eyebrow, "Father, is something wrong with the attribute Azrael awakened?" Azrael was slightly taken aback by Silas’ words and also turned to look at Zyrek. Zyrek was the strongest person present, so he could definitely see things others could not. Hearing Silas’s concerned tone, Zyrek snapped out of his thoughts and shook his head. "There is nothing wrong with the attribute he awakened. I just felt that it’s stronger than ordinary ones, so I asked just in case." He didn’t mention his guess, as he wasn’t entirely certain about it. If his real body had been present instead of a hologram, he could have confirmed everything perfectly. But since he wasn’t there in person, he couldn’t be sure about what he had sensed. Besides, Azrael would be able to find out the true nature of his attribute on his own after completing his trial in Eonrift, so there was no need to overthink it. "Well, since your awakening is done, I will be leaving now," Zyrek said, turning to look at Azrael. "Even though you didn’t demand some expensive gift as you usually do whenever you see me, I still prepared something good for your birthday." He turned his gaze to Silas. "I will place his gift there by tomorrow. Don’t forget to give it to him." Silas nodded upon hearing Zyrek’s instructions. Zyrek chatted with Kael for a few more minutes, telling him about a few interesting things he had done over the past few years and after giving some final instructions to Ashara and Silas, his hologram disappeared.
