Even so.
The little boy struggled wildly, looking like he was possessed!
Suddenly!
He bit down on the hand of the maid holding him.
The maid yelped in pain, but she dared not let go.
Together, they forced the little boy into the room and quickly bolted the door from the outside.
Inside, he angrily pounded on the door, his voice like the roar of a young beast.
"Let me out! Or when I get out, I’ll kill all of you!"
The two maids seemed to be used to this.
One of them, however, was hurt and couldn’t help but sigh.
"Young Master, please bear with it. The Princess Consort specifically instructed us before she left today to keep a close eye on you."
The little boy inside the room was defiant, incessantly tugging at the door frame: "Let me out! There’s a ghost in here, let me out!"
The maids glanced at each other and shook their heads.
"You’re hurt, let’s take care of that first. We’ll bring the medicine for the Young Master later."
"Even after the Young Master takes his medicine, he doesn’t seem to get better. What are we to do going forward?"
The two maids left, sighing.
After they left, there was movement in the nearby bushes.
Zhi’er hopped out, her little feet landing softly, with two leaves caught in her cute, bun-like hair.
She blinked and looked around the courtyard.
Perhaps the Sixth Prince was tired of shouting; there was no sound now.
But Zhi’er moved closer to the door, still able to hear someone inside muttering curses—
"Kill them, kill them all, leave none alive!"
The little one scratched her face.
Sixth Brother is so rebellious!
He’s only six, and as tall as me, yet he already wants to kill people!
After a while, there was silence from inside.
Zhi’er blinked her long lashes, her round, water-like eyes pondering for a moment, then she tiptoed and unlatched the bolt, sneaking inside.
Sixth Prince Bai Xingye had long heard someone pushing the door.
He guessed it must be the maids returning to check on him.
Bai Xingye’s lips curled into a sinister smile.
He stealthily hid in a wardrobe.
When the maid came and he didn’t jump out, it’d scare her to death!
But, after a long while passed.
There was no sound from outside.
Bai Xingye gradually furrowed his brow, his naturally restless temperament once again losing patience.
Could the maid have left?
He pushed the wardrobe door open a crack to observe outside.
The room was unexpectedly empty, with the main door slightly ajar.
Bai Xingye was furious!
The maid had actually left!
He pushed open the wardrobe and immediately jumped out, planning to rush out and create chaos!
However, just as Bai Xingye crawled out of the wardrobe!
A dark silhouette dangled down from above the wardrobe.
The black hair swayed in the air and smacked right onto Bai Xingye’s face!
"Waaaah!"
Zhi’er raised both her hands, spreading her fingers wide and making a threatening sound, her large watery eyes sparkling, her cute thin brows furrowed, looking like a little tiger with great bravado!
Bai Xingye screamed in fright, falling back onto the ground!
At this moment, a series of giggles rang out, like those of a cute little doll—
"You wanted to scare me, but you’re the one who’s so scared, aren’t you ashamed!"
Shocked and terrified, Bai Xingye focused his gaze.
To his surprise, sitting atop the wardrobe was a round-cheeked, adorably soft and pretty little doll!
She looked just about three and a half years old.
Enraged, Bai Xingye stood up directly, shouted furiously: "How dare you trick me?"
He turned quickly and walked to the multilevel rack, jumped up, and took down a long sword from the top shelf!
Then, with bloodshot eyes, Bai Xingye walked directly towards Zhi’er.
