Chapter 373: Blame It On The Devil
Seven Sins System Chapter 373. Blame It On The Devil
"Ugh! This stupid doctor is very heavy!" A kidnapper complained, shooting me a glare.
His buddy, however, wasn't having it. With a chuckle, he retorted, "Stop babbling, you lost the bet earlier so that's your punishment. Besides, it's not like you've been hitting the gym lately."
I bit back a laugh, finding their banter oddly entertaining despite our dire situation. But before the conversation could continue, another kidnapper intervened, his voice dripping with urgency.
"Let's go! We have to report this to the great leader!"
With that, they began to make their exit. But as the one carrying me moved to leave, I seized the opportunity to take matters into my own hands.
With a swift movement, I grabbed his ankle, causing him to nearly jump out of his skin in surprise. And then, before he could even utter a sound, I unleashed my skill.
'Hypnosis.'
The hypnotic trance washed over him. His once animated expression melted into one of blankness, his gaze empty and unfocused. It was almost too easy.
With a sense of satisfaction, I summoned one of my mosquito-shaped tentacles, guiding it toward his ear.
'Envy!'
My tiny tentacles slithered into the kidnapper's ear canal and a rush of information flooded into my mind. It was like tapping into a hidden network, with data streaming in at lightning speed, revealing secrets about the cult and its elusive leader.
But as I sifted through the information, disappointment washed over me. These guys were just small fries, mere pawns in the grand scheme of things. I could sense the presence of the cult's leader, but his true form remained shrouded in mystery. It was frustrating, to say the least, knowing that I was only scratching the surface.
"I don't see anything wrong with that," I replied, echoing her calm tone. "I just hope for a good meal before they kidnap us," I added, my voice tinged with frustration.
With a resigned sigh, I let out a long exhale, the tension in my muscles slowly dissipating. "But in the worst case, I might eat the dry corpse beside you," I quipped casually.
The reaction was immediate. Puriel gasped in shock, her body tensing as she recoiled from the unexpected remark. With a swift movement, she turned onto her side and scrambled away from the offending object.
