Within minutes, a patrol car arrived.@@@@ The police team consisted of six or seven officers, all dressed in uniforms with batons on their belts. Two of them were armed, given that the reported incident involved a home invasion. The leading officer spotted Chu Xiuxiu standing at the entrance of her apartment complex and approached her directly. "Are you Chu Xiuxiu? Did you make the report?" "Yes, that’s me," Chu Xiuxiu nodded. Seeing the tall and imposing officers, she finally felt her heart settle down. After answering the officers’ questions and providing the details of her apartment unit, four officers immediately formed a team to apprehend the suspect, while Chu Xiuxiu was escorted to the patrol car to rest. "Little Master, am I really safe now?" Chu Xiuxiu’s voice was hesitant, her mind still in a daze. After all, such a terrifying event had taken place. She was fortunate to have been tricked into leaving her apartment earlier; otherwise, fear might have paralyzed her, leaving her unable to even step out the door. Yao Yao, who was munching on a piece of mung bean cake, nodded and said, "You’re safe now, but living alone here isn’t secure, Miss Sister!" His face was smeared with dirt, as if he’d just been dug out of a hole. The moment the man saw Chu Xiuxiu standing near the police officers, he began to struggle violently, swearing viciously. "You btch! You dared to call the cops? You’re dead! You’re fcking dead!" Earlier, while hiding under the bed, he had overheard the woman watching a livestream and being tricked into going out to collect tree branches. He had cursed her stupidity at the time. This man had lived in the area for a while and had once run into Chu Xiuxiu by chance. He found her beautiful and exactly his type. However, after several failed attempts to strike up a conversation, he grew angry and resentful. When he later discovered that she lived alone, he began stalking her. One day, when Chu Xiuxiu went outside to pick up a food delivery and forgot to lock her door, he seized the opportunity. Sneaking into her apartment, he secretly made a copy of her key. From then on, he would crawl under her bed every day before she got home from work. Once she fell asleep at night, he would crawl out and use her personal items, including her toiletries and other belongings. He didn’t harm Chu Xiuxiu, not because he was afraid of getting caught, but because he physically couldn’t. His long-standing frustrations and twisted personality had turned him into a deranged voyeur hated by all. He originally thought the unsuspecting woman would return soon, so he stayed under the bed. But as time passed, an unsettling feeling crept over him. His years of criminal experience made him cautious, so he decided to leave and hide for the time being. However, just as he crawled out from under the bed and looked out the window, he spotted police cars at the entrance to the complex. Realizing he had been exposed, he tried to escape but was caught by officers waiting at the door. "Today, a lot of viewers didn’t get their fortunes read. They’ll definitely come back tomorrow, and I’m worried I won’t be able to handle it. Could you join me again like you did today?" "Don’t worry. If you agree, I’ll let you have all my secret stash of snacks!" Knowing his sister’s love for food, Gu Yu played his trump card. As expected, Yao Yao’s eyes lit up at the mention of snacks. "Okay, sure!" Yao Yao loved her Seventh Brother’s snacks. Spending a bit of time helping him out was totally worth it. Suddenly, a faint golden thread appeared out of nowhere, floating down into Yao Yao’s hand. "What’s this? It smells amazing!" Sniffing the thread curiously, Yao Yao’s watery eyes sparkled with delight. Without a second thought, she popped it into her mouth and swallowed it. A warm and comforting sensation spread through her body, making her feel better than even a full meal could. Yao Yao couldn’t help but squint her eyes in satisfaction. So this was what "virtue" tasted like! The golden thread had come from the young woman she had saved during the livestream. Realizing this, Yao Yao felt a surge of happiness. Since she had agreed to help with her brother’s livestreams, it meant she’d have more opportunities to gain virtue in the future! "What’s got you so happy all of a sudden?" Gu Yu asked, noticing her mood. Of course, he couldn’t see the golden thread and had no idea what had just happened. "I’m happy to help you, Seventh Brother. You’re my lucky star, too!" Yao Yao thought about all the snacks her brother had given her and how he had now provided her with a way to earn virtue. What else could he be but her lucky star? Gu Yu was stunned for a moment before his face turned red. He stammered awkwardly, "Seventh Brother isn’t... isn’t... that great." "You ARE that great," Yao Yao insisted firmly. Gu Yu didn’t understand why his little sister was suddenly so insistent, but her words filled his heart with sweetness. "Alright, if Yao Yao says so, then it must be true. How about this? Let’s take a ride in my sports car and cruise around the city!" Since his sister enjoyed his company so much, how could he not step up and show her a good time? "Yes! Let’s go!" Yao Yao’s eyes sparkled with excitement. The siblings quickly grabbed the car keys and headed out for a carefree drive, completely unaware that their earlier livestream had already blown up on social media.
