He might look calm on the surface, but Thirteen's words affected him, especially the part where the child talked about how groveled and begged one of the Celestials to spare his life. This happened hundreds of years ago, which was also the reason why Arundel had developed a habit of only making his move when he was certain that he had a hundred percent chance of winning. The fear of death had made him a coward, and even he knew of it. However, admitting that he was a coward and people calling him a coward were two different things. The Tigerkin King didn't want to be outdone, so he also sprinted fearlessly towards their enemy. They were the only Thrones who had the ability to defeat Arundel, so they had no choice but to work together, and hope that a miracle would happen.
