The place was by the sea, with a large peach orchard nearby, giving off a sort of paradise vibe. If it were her, she would also like to come here often for short stays. "Do you want to go outside for a walk?" Sheng Ting asked. "Sure!" Stepping out of the small western-style house, it was only a few minutes’ walk to the beach. Here lay a completely undeveloped strip of beach. Perhaps because not many knew of this place, the sand was exceptionally clean. The sea water was a crystal clear blue, and looking out, the blue sky blended with the sea, making it hard to distinguish. On the beach, there were no signs of leisure activities, only some village children playing barefoot on the sands, and in the distance, some locals could be seen gathering sea treasures. Shen Weiyi couldn’t resist the temptation and promptly took off her shoes to tread barefoot on the sand. The fine, soft sand engulfed her feet instantly. The sand carried some warmth, as if it had been toasted, yet it wasn’t hot on the feet and felt exceedingly comfortable. Sheng Ting’s gaze inadvertently fell on her feet. The girl’s insteps were snowy white, each toe rounded and cute, and under the sunlight, they appeared even more delicate and petite. Her toenails were neatly trimmed, sporting a healthy pink, like tender and fine flower petals. Sheng Ting felt his face inexplicably heating up, glanced away quickly after a moment. The feeling of bare feet touching the sand was very comfortable and stress-relieving. Shen Weiyi turned her head to the side to Sheng Ting, "Stepping barefoot in the sand really feels good. Don’t you want to try?" Sheng Ting politely smiled, shaking his head. Shen Weiyi, considering his temperament, thought that though he did not appear too old-fashioned or scholarly, she indeed had never seen him do anything outrageous. Imagining him carrying his shoes and walking barefoot on the beach indeed seemed somewhat out of character for him. Shen Weiyi didn’t press him further, contenting herself with playing in the sand, running to the water’s edge to splash her feet, thoroughly enjoying her own company. Sheng Ting’s gaze stayed on the girl the entire time, noticing a rare childlike quality on her face. His lips unconsciously lifted in a smile.
